Touchpoints

This website can now begin to serve as my main touchpoint for communicating points that any of you would care about.

If you've made it this far/deep into the website, thank you!

This is my first blog post and hopefully not my last, I will be using this to log notable changes during the development of CORE (previously PROJECT(S) 016).

By the time you're reading this, or if it has even reached a mass audience, this blog post would probably be ancient history by now, so I'm going to use this to write my story.

Story time!

PROJECT(S) 016 (or CORE) began initially as 'an art project from the project(s)'. The 16 is the postcode I'm from in London. As PROJECT(S) 016 served as my debut project going solo, the name existed as a double entendre, documenting it's existence as an art project from the project(s), plus paying homage to my initial origin story.

Several life experiences later, I decided that I want to move past the name and rebrand. The name CORE is supposed to be symbolic of the idea of progression. More importantly, the idea of progression towards the human race. I was obsessed with brands when I was younger, so it only seemed fitting that I created a brand as a means to communicate what I want to this planet.

If any of you have watched Gurren Lagann, that was my favourite anime growing up. Gurren Lagann used the concept of spirals and even deemed the human race as 'Spiral Beings'. Beings which have infinite and limitless potential to either create or destroy and are identified by their complete drive to continuously fight and evolve regardless of the circumstances surrounding their evolution.

At first glance, the anime might just seem like an over-the-top, wacky shounen anime. But I think it carries a much deeper meaning about the human race and our need to progress and evolve.

Progress happens constantly, whether we like it or not, so it's up to us to choose which direction to head towards. Do we want to create, or do we want to destroy? Life on this planet is precious. We must nuture all beings. Where Gurren Lagann gets controversial is do we as beings do nothing but fight those that get in our way? I don't believe humans are inherently bad. I believe nobody is born evil. I believe that why many people fight isn't just for greediness, but people fight oppression. And unfortunately it is those of our own kind that do attempt to oppress us sometimes.

So we must all decide, what does progression mean to us?

We live in a world now where so many battles have been fought and are now ancient history. The reason why history exists is so that we can learn from it.

The only question is, where do we go from here?

CORE is my way of expressing myself. CORE is something from me to you. CORE is something that I want to put into the world and contribute, even if it isn't much.

Right now, realistically, it is nothing, but for those of you who decide to care and have actually read this far down, to me, it is everything.

I won't bother to fill you with empty promises of what this brand will be. I don't know yet. I do have plans and directions I want to take it, but that's for you to see in the future changelogs once the work is done.

We have much to do as a species. Don't let it go to waste. Don't let your life go to waste, and make your mark on the planet how you see fit. Just make sure in the process, that it's a positive one.

Thanks for reading all, till next time.

- Marc
